Surviving Summatime

Keeping the kids busy and happy during the long days of summer is always a challenge.  Big Sister's demands generally involve more computer or tv time.  Speaking of, is anyone sick of "Teen Beach Movie" yet?

I did get her to step out of her comfort zone today:

Rock climbing at the gym

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Baby Boy is making his own fun:

Getting into trouble...

We make our regular rounds of the park (when it's cool in the morning), the library, the pool, and Chick-Fil-A (hey, Nutrition Nazis, don't worry, I make them get fruit with their chicken).

But sometimes, I run out of ideas for things to do close to home, on days when a trip to the museum or zoo would require more energy than I've got.  Occupational hazard of being an older mom.

What's your favorite way to spend a summer day at home (or close to home) with your kiddos?  I'd love to hear about it!

Linking up again with #iPPP, the best phone photos of the week.

  1. Oh my gosh....summer days can be long, can't they? I find myself without energy, too, especially when it's super hot. We usually do have extra technology time on those days, or sprinkler/pool time.

Yay for rock climbing! And those little toddler legs? Swoon.

    1. If only I could erect a rock climbing wall like that at my house...we'd be good to go! :)
