Watch out world, here comes my boy!

Today is a big day for me.  Big Sister is at a day camp and Baby Boy is at a "camp" at our church.  Yes, they have camp for babies.  Don't question what I know to be good and true.

This is a monumental occasion for us, as this is his first foray into a school setting.  Big Sister gave him a pep-talk about how much fun he would have and how many friends he would make.

He was excited to walk in with his nap mat and lunch box.  But still clutching his Froggy, of course.

As I left Baby Boy amidst the sea of wailing children being dropped off, I felt a pang in my heart and dried a tear from my cheek.  Another one beginning to learn to fly.

I took a deep breath.

And then I did the Snoopy dance.

Boy, did I have reason to celebrate.  This is the first day I have been in my house alone on a weekday in almost two years.  And did I have plans.

Closets to be cleaned out, errands to be run and emails to be returned.

Laundry to be sorted, meals to be planned, phone calls to be made.

So far, I've acomplished not many of these tasks, and my time is almost up.

What I have done is sit in my house and stare at the wall.  And breathe deeply. And write this post.

And appreciate the fact that I am not at the Pink Eye Palace play castle at the mall with the other harried mommies on this rainy day.

Yes, I am very pleased that our church offers "camp" for babies.

Apparently, God thinks I need a break, too.

  1. Well, I don't have any kiddos but I will say...BREAKS ARE HEAVENLY.

You should totally make sure you snag some for yourself more often!

    1. Carrie, he will go to preschool 2 days a week starting in the will be great for both of us!!!
