Back Away, Freaks

So, you might notice that I've added the "Take the Pledge Badge" to my blog.  No, I'm not talking about pledging money, love or allegiance to the flag.  I'm talking about cyber-bullying, and in this case, the Mom-to-Mom kind.

I saw a fellow Mommy blogger get attacked this week over her humorous satire on the subject of taking a toddler to the grocery store.  Her post was completely hilarious, and I could totally relate.  In fact, it could have easily been written by me, except my language is not quite THAT bad...yet.

Anyway, some freaky people went crazy on her, insulting her, her kids and her readers.  One even made a physical threat!!!

Therefore, in preparation for my similarly irreverent post that will be published by Scary Mommy in a couple of weeks, I am praying to the internet gods that none of these freaky people find me here in what I like to think of as my parlor. Blog, Sweet Blog.

Although, freaky people do always seem to find me.  And latch onto me.  So, it's best to be prepared.

A few tried to set up camp here after the Mamapedia incident, and I had to go a little Jersey Shore on them.  And don't think I won't do it again.

So, here's my message to the freaks:  if you don't like what I've written and want to tell me how stupid I am, please do so in a respectful and calm manner.  Better yet, just change the channel.  Or take a chill pill. Or get a life.

I know I am preaching to the choir right now.

I think most people can see that my goal with this blog is to unite Mommies of the globe, near and far, as we good-heartedly laugh at ourselves, our families and the insane reality that is parenting in this day and age.

Luckily, my kick-ass readers are awesome, normal, intelligent people who know and like my particular brand of self-deprecating humor and over-exaggeration.

But just in case the freaks try and crash this place...I'll be ready.

  1. Congrats on your upcoming feature! How fab is that?!?

    I, too, saw all the nastiness that went on last week. Ridiculous. No other way to put it.

    Bullies = Cowards

    1. Thanks, Carrie! I heard about that incident from the post that you wrote about it, which was great, BTW. There is just too much nastiness in the world, and unfortunately, the internet just gives these people an open mic.

      Gotta just keep on keepin' on...
